#2: Studio Shoot 26.09.2012

On the 26th September, I had a shoot with Andy Watson of DRW Images. I've worked with Andy only a couple of times, but he's an incredibly talented photographer who works the majority of his time at the O2 Academy in Birmingham shooting the various acts who play there, and obviously shooting beautiful girls for edgy & fashionable shoots.

The model we were working with was Ellie Fox, a young model based in London & Wolverhampton. She has a beautiful look - classic, but different and she's the type of model who can pull most looks off.

Andy wanted to create a futuristic look for the shoot - we had discussed looks over emails for a while and I had an idea in my head - blue tones on the eyes, taken right out towards the temple to create an almost 'visor' look with flawless fresh skin and nude blocked out lips. This meant I could not only give Andy what he was looking for but also keep it fashion.

We had two hours to create the look, which gave me enough time to put a beauty look on Ellie first. I had seen a video on Lisa Eldridge's website that guest MUA Charlotte Tilbury had done which inspired me to do this look. It was a look she had created on Kate Moss for a Vogue cover - flawless contoured skin, with a strong red/orange lip and natural eyes.

Look #1

- MAC Face & Body Foundation
- Dermacolor Concealer Palette
- MAC Strobe Cream
- MAC Pro Contour Creams (on eyes and to contour)
- MAC Fashion Nomad LE Lipstick
- Estee Lauder Raspberry Lipstick (in centre of the lips)

I hope you all found this post interesting and like the photos! The only thing I would change is Ellie's tan lines - you're always learning on shoots!

#1: Welcome!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog, KML Make Up - a place where you can get all your make up fixes in one place. I'm a freelance Make Up Artist and a part time Make Up Artist at MAC Cosmetics and I absolutely adore my job.

I wanted to create this blog to share my tips, work and recent looks with everyone. I get quite a few tweets, messages and even texts off friends asking for advice. Think of this as your make up haven where I can hopefully help you all out with daily cosmetic dilemmas we sometimes face! I am constantly learning and I love to share my findings with other people.

If you would like to check out my old blog, in which I wrote all about my training last year at The School of Make Up in Manchester here is the link - If you're looking to get into the Make Up industry then this could be really helpful to you.

My blog won't be soley makeup based, as I love fashion too and I believe fashion and makeup go hand in hand anyway, especially right now what with all the Fashion Weeks from around the world!

I hope you all enjoy my blog!
